Challenges Posed by Crime-Terror Nexus in Prisons: P/CVE Models for the Prevention of Recidivism, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration of FTFs and Violent Extremists
Prisons have been identified as particular vulnerable spaces that bolster radicalisation and provide breeding grounds to reinforce the crime-terror nexus. This panel aims to explore how the crime-terror nexus is developing inside prisons and what models and preventive strategies are being developed within the EU aimed at tackling crime- terror relationships and to prevent recidivism.
It will debate how holistic models are being designed to better identify the factors accounting for the links between terrorism and criminality in sentence planning.
